CHILDREN (Part of Thio/Tan-story)
During the years children weren born and only a few pictures were taken.
One of the first known pictures is the one below, with the two eldest children.

The two children grew and receive a sister.
The family expands:
The amount of children grew and another picture is shown below:
In the above picture one child was not born yet. This child was a girl and after a time the complete family was
photographed on which proud parents are shown amongst their children.
9 Children were born out of this marriage, of which 6 girls and 3 boys. The eldest is a girl and the youngest is a girl too.
As mentioned above the father was a clergyman and he "stood" in several parishes in Java and in Ambon. Therefore the family lived in
several locations. The house of the family was mostly situated nearby the church. At that time the church-houses were quite small and
in most situations/locations the children had a common bedrom. Many nice memories about their childhood are going around.
They all enjoy it to tell these memories and go back in time. They made a special community with all the brothers and sisters and played
always together, due to a request of their parents.
Regularly the children and their parents paid a visit to the their grandma. At that time Chinese grandma's had a great influence
on the family. At one these visits the following picture was taken.
All children have inherited a strong musical feeling, some of them are realy talented. This is shown in more then one "child", two
conducting a choir, other one playing professional piano etc. Most of them have also the asthonishing capability singing very good but
also sing the music in notes like "do-re-mi-fa etc". The music can instantly be put on paper. This muscial "talent" is shown with quite
an amount of the children.

So far the family name was Thio, but during the 1960's the family-name had to change. This was the result of the policial situation in
Indonesia and all the Chinese people were not allowed anymore to carry their Chinese name. Therefore the father searched for a "new"
and found one in the New Testemony. The name was Theophilus and had the Chinese Thio-name in it. After this registration and
partly "change of identity" the family became known as the Theophilus-family.
